Kelsey left a comment on the guestbook regarding my Contiki Greek Island Hopping Tour so here's what's left of a website I had. Boy was I miffed !!! They converted the ememories.com website to photoworks.com and in the process tossed out my travel log. That was a nice travelog embedded with pictures. Oh well ... such is life.


Luckily though, someone had printed out the suggestions and was kind enough to fax me a copy. So here are a few Greek Island Hopping notes:

#1 - Travel light! I can't harp this enough - elevators don't exist on the islands.

#2 - Probably does not apply anymore since the hotel I stayed at is no longer listed in the Contiki catalog. If you get into town early, and wanna take the bus, here's the Athens public bus info. Hopefully your hotel is close to Syntagma Square & the Plaka, which is bus #95 from the airport for about £3.

#4, #11, #17, #19 - refer to Panorama suggestions.

#6 - Not sure what the custom is now. Go with the flow and see what your TM says.

Seeing as how this is from 2000, it may be a little dated, so here are some additional comments:

* Check out the Athens Survival Guide

* Clubbing clothes are not necessary and I wore Teva sandals the entire trip (helps for #1 above)

* Maybe bring your own life jacket? Nah, that would violate my "Travel Light" rule, but read Day 13 from my Panorama Travelogue.
